Larry Page und Sergey Brin generierten mit „Backrub“ – dem Urahn von Google – eine Anlaufstelle, die auf einem mathematischen Routine basierte, der anhand der Verlinkungsstruktur Kanten gewichtete und dies in den Rankingalgorithmus eingehen ließ.
