Gabe Kapler: ‘I don’t plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I really feel higher concerning the direction of our country’

Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I really feel better in regards to the course of our country."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked parents attempting to arrange to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who discovered his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra essential than our children's freedom to go to school with no need bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the lack of supply of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let it be known through protest. The home of the brave should encourage this."

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now now we have kids murdered at school," Kerr informed reporters initially of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I am drained. I am so bored with getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated households which can be on the market ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Sufficient."
