800 staff resign after firm asks them to work from office

As the Covid scenario has improved, several corporations have already called their staff to office, ending the earn a living from home (WFH).

Nevertheless, it appears some employees need to do business from home additional. Recently, hundreds of workers have resigned when a company asked them to return to the office.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr staff have resigned from the kids online coding studying edtech start-up within the last two months after being requested to work from workplace.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its staff to return to workplace inside a month’s time, in response to an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the corporate introduced the policy to end work from home and requested remote employees to return to office by April 18.

The resignations came from full-time employees of the sales, coding, and math groups. Extra workers are expected to put down their papers in the coming months.

One of many staff who resigned instructed the website that a month’s time was not sufficient for relocation. “Some have children, some have aged and sick mother and father, while others produce other obligations. It isn't right to call again employees in such a brief time period,” the previous WhiteHat Jr employee stated.

One other worker said salaries also factored within the determination to not return to the office. On the time of hiring, employees were told about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Nonetheless, after working from residence for 2 years, workers believed that their salaries should be revised to replicate the price of dwelling in costly cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former worker remarked.
