As the Covid situation has improved, several companies have already referred to as their staff to office, ending the work from home (WFH).
Nevertheless, it appears some workers want to make money working from home additional. Lately, tons of of workers have resigned when an organization asked them to come back to the office.
Over 800 WhiteHat Jr workers have resigned from the kids online coding learning edtech start-up in the last two months after being requested to work from office.
This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, requested its employees to return to workplace inside a month’s time, according to an Inc42 report.
On March 18, the corporate announced the policy to finish make money working from home and asked distant workers to return to office by April 18.
The resignations came from full-time employees of the sales, coding, and math teams. More staff are expected to place down their papers within the coming months.
One of the employees who resigned informed the website that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have kids, some have aged and sick parents, while others produce other tasks. It is not proper to call again employees in such a brief time period,” the previous WhiteHat Jr employee stated.
One other employee said salaries also factored within the determination to not return to the office. At the time of hiring, staff were advised about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from residence for 2 years, staff believed that their salaries should be revised to replicate the cost of dwelling in expensive cities.
“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former worker remarked.
