KATHMANDU, Nepal -- A Nepali Sherpa broke her personal document as probably the most successful feminine climber of Mount Everest by reaching the summit of the world's highest peak Thursday.

Lakpa Sherpa and several other other climbers took advantage of favorable climate to succeed in the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) summit early within the morning, her brother and expedition organizer Mingma Gelu stated. He said she was in good health and was safely descending from the height.

Sherpa, 48, never bought a chance to get a formal schooling because she had to begin incomes a living by carrying climbing gear and supplies for trekkers.
