Comic Andy Dick arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in California

Comic Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a campground in Orange County, California, on suspicion of sexual battery, authorities stated.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to O’Neill Regional Park round 9 a.m. after the adult male victim called authorities a couple of attainable sexual assault, mentioned Sgt. Scott Steinle, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Dick, 56, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery, Steinle stated.

The sheriff’s department wouldn't provide extra particulars in regards to the nature of the allegations.

The Orange County District Lawyer’s Office had not acquired the case Wednesday and has not made a charging determination, spokeswoman Kimberly Edds mentioned.

Deputies responded to a campground space of the 4,500-acre park near the Santa Ana Mountains in Southern California, where they met the sufferer and ultimately arrested Dick, Steinle said.

Dick was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail Wednesday, in keeping with jail records. It was not instantly clear whether he had an attorney who might converse on his behalf within the incident.

A person who has been Dick’s manager did not reply to a request for remark.

Dick was accused of groping a male ride-share driver in West Hollywood in 2018 and charged the following year with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Dick has pleaded not responsible, and the case is about for trial, stated his legal professional in that matter, Daniel Kapelovitz. Kapelovitz stated he does not symbolize Dick in Wednesday’s incident and had not spoken to him.
