Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized energy.
“They should wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is conventional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.
“These ladies who aren't too outdated or young should cover their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to keep away from provocation when assembly men who will not be mahram (adult close male kinfolk),” the decree mentioned.
