Teen arrested after mom noticed son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - Several agencies responded to a middle faculty in Texas Friday morning after a teenager’s mom observed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock inform KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Center College around 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager never made it inside the building, and he ran from the college.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the world together with several other companies in an attempt to search out him.
The teenager was found close to the school’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old may very well be facing a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no threat made to the school or anyone inside the school.
O.L. Slaton Center School was briefly placed on lockout because of the incident.
