Uvalde police, school district not cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Unbiased School District police drive are now not cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary College and the state's assessment of the legislation enforcement response, a number of law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial College District did not instantly respond to requests for remark from ABC News.

In accordance with sources, the decision to cease cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday throughout which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the unsuitable choice" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety stated, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police supplied an preliminary interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days ago."
