Nashville Public Library launches ‘Freedom to Read’ marketing campaign

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It is a topic that's taken maintain in Tennessee: books like "Maus" or "Stroll Two Moons" have been pulled from cabinets.

"Our job is simply to ensure that if you need it, it is here for you," said Public Information Officer for the Nashville Public Library, Ed Brown.

The aim is to get the 5,000 library cards in the fingers of new sign-ups this month.

"We aren't attempting to be a push back — a force pushing back towards these choices — we want to be an alternative to say, in case you may not be able to get it there... you can get it right here," said Brown.
