BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of indicators saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple fees.
Man Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn elevated amount of police officers were placed at schools within the communities as a result of the indicators. A number of colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Department of Security said, but they decided there is no credible risk at this time.
The New Hampshire Department of Safety is investigating indicators that learn 'faculty shooter!' which had been found in multiple communities New Hampshire Division of SafetyOne such sign was written on a paper plate. The protection division released a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor fees together with false report back to law enforcement, false public alarm and legal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a listening to scheduled for Tuesday.
No other suspects have been charged right now.
