Speaking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going forward until I feel better in regards to the route of our nation."

In a blog put up, Kapler questioned whether the nation's leadership is committed to representing its individuals's greatest pursuits and whether or not the United States is really "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked dad and mom trying to arrange to charge in to stop the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians resolve that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra essential than our children's freedom to go to school while not having bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the dearth of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I might have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied with your country, you let or not it's known via protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action in opposition to gun violence in the USA.

Kerr refused to talk about basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' series towards the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have kids murdered in school," Kerr told reporters in the beginning of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I am tired. I am so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Enough."
