Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward until I really feel higher in regards to the course of our nation."

In a weblog publish, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is committed to representing its folks's best interests and whether the United States is really "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked dad and mom attempting to prepare to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra vital than our kids's freedom to go to high school while not having bulletproof backpacks and energetic shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that when you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it's known by way of protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in the USA.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the final 10 days, we've had aged Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got kids murdered at school," Kerr advised reporters firstly of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I am so tired of getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated families that are on the market ... I'm bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
