Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward till I really feel higher about the course of our country."

In a weblog put up, Kapler questioned whether or not the country's leadership is dedicated to representing its people's finest interests and whether the US is truly "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents trying to arrange to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who learned his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are more vital than our youngsters's freedom to go to school without needing bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that when you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it's known by way of protest. The house of the courageous should encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in the US.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Game 4 of the Warriors' collection in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, instead raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the final 10 days, we've had aged Black folks killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have youngsters murdered at college," Kerr advised reporters firstly of the press convention.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I am so bored with getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated households which can be out there ... I'm bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
