Florida man gets life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, according to officers.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two totally different occasions in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom records say he flew forwards and backwards disguising himself as an English trainer.

Among the boys, in line with the DOJ, were lured with guarantees of cash and presents. Others introduced him as their English teacher.

The Tampa Bay News says Homeland Security investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Challenge Secure Childhood, which was an effort to search out baby intercourse abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

Day pleaded guilty to 2 counts of journey with intent to have interaction in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual exercise, according to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in prison.
