A fifth grade pupil in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a text message threatening to hold out a mass capturing, authorities mentioned.
In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it had realized earlier that day of a "threatening textual content message" sent by a scholar at an elementary school.
It stated its native faculty risk enforcement crew was instantly notified and started investigating. The 10-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written risk to conduct a mass capturing," the sheriff's workplace stated.
In video shared by authorities, the boy will be seen being led into a police vehicle.
“This student’s habits is sickening, particularly after the latest tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement, noting that the menace got here just days after the lethal faculty capturing at Robb Elementary School left 19 students and two teachers lifeless.
“Proper now is just not the time to act like a bit of delinquent. It’s not funny,” he said. “This child made a pretend risk, and now he’s experiencing actual consequences.”
