A fifth grade scholar in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a textual content message threatening to carry out a mass taking pictures, authorities mentioned.

In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office stated it had realized earlier that day of a "threatening text message" sent by a pupil at an elementary college.

It said its local college threat enforcement crew was instantly notified and began investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written risk to conduct a mass capturing," the sheriff's office said.

In video shared by authorities, the boy can be seen being led into a police car.

“This scholar’s conduct is sickening, especially after the current tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno mentioned in a press release, noting that the risk came simply days after the deadly college taking pictures at Robb Elementary School left 19 college students and two academics dead.

“Right now will not be the time to act like slightly delinquent. It’s not humorous,” he mentioned. “This youngster made a fake menace, and now he’s experiencing actual consequences.”

Marceno stated his team “didn’t hesitate one second...NOT ONE SECOND,” to investigate the incident.
