Dave Chappelle attacked onstage at L.A.’s Hollywood Bowl

Comic Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage Tuesday evening as he carried out at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl arena, with movies from viewers members' cellphones shortly flooding social media and displaying a man seem to run onto the stage and sort out the comedian.

Movies posted to Twitter appeared to show the person who charged Chappelle being detained outdoors the venue by police after which loaded into an ambulance with seen accidents.

Witnesses said — and videos appeared to show — that the man was set upon by a number of people onstage instantly after he attacked Chappelle.

Whereas the complete debacle was captured in a number of movies shot by members of the audience, cellular phone use was officially banned through the performance.  

The motivation for the initial assault remained unclear, and there was no fast response from the Los Angeles Police Division to CBS News' request for information about the incident.

Comedian Chris Rock was at the show, and jokingly asked if the attacker was Will Smith — who made headlines by bounding up on stage and slapping Rock at the Academy Awards in March.

You should come to a spot of my selecting and a time of my selecting. And thirdly, you have to admit that Hannah Gadsby is just not funny."
