Comedian Andy Dick arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in California

Comic Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a campground in Orange County, California, on suspicion of sexual battery, authorities said.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Division responded to O’Neill Regional Park round 9 a.m. after the grownup male sufferer referred to as authorities about a potential sexual assault, mentioned Sgt. Scott Steinle, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Dick, 56, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery, Steinle mentioned.

The sheriff’s division wouldn't provide extra particulars in regards to the nature of the allegations.

The Orange County District Lawyer’s Workplace had not acquired the case Wednesday and has not made a charging resolution, spokeswoman Kimberly Edds stated.

Deputies responded to a campground area of the 4,500-acre park close to the Santa Ana Mountains in Southern California, the place they met the victim and ultimately arrested Dick, Steinle mentioned.

Dick was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail Wednesday, in keeping with jail data. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney who may speak on his behalf within the incident.

A person who has been Dick’s supervisor did not reply to a request for remark.

Dick was accused of groping a male ride-share driver in West Hollywood in 2018 and charged the following year with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Dick has pleaded not responsible, and the case is set for trial, mentioned his lawyer in that matter, Daniel Kapelovitz. Kapelovitz mentioned he does not signify Dick in Wednesday’s incident and had not spoken to him.
