Comedian Andy Dick arrested on suspicion of sexual battery in California

Comic Andy Dick was arrested Wednesday at a campground in Orange County, California, on suspicion of sexual battery, authorities mentioned.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to O’Neill Regional Park round 9 a.m. after the adult male victim referred to as authorities about a doable sexual assault, stated Sgt. Scott Steinle, a sheriff’s spokesman.

Dick, 56, was arrested on suspicion of felony sexual battery, Steinle stated.

The sheriff’s department would not present extra particulars about the nature of the allegations.

The Orange County District Legal professional’s Office had not obtained the case Wednesday and has not made a charging decision, spokeswoman Kimberly Edds said.

Deputies responded to a campground space of the 4,500-acre park close to the Santa Ana Mountains in Southern California, where they met the sufferer and ultimately arrested Dick, Steinle mentioned.

Dick was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail Wednesday, according to jail data. It was not immediately clear whether he had an lawyer who could speak on his behalf within the incident.

An individual who has been Dick’s supervisor did not respond to a request for comment.

Dick was accused of groping a male ride-share driver in West Hollywood in 2018 and charged the next year with misdemeanor sexual battery.

Dick has pleaded not responsible, and the case is about for trial, said his attorney in that matter, Daniel Kapelovitz. Kapelovitz said he doesn't characterize Dick in Wednesday’s incident and had not spoken to him.
