Newly released physique digital camera video reveals deputies in Warren County, Virginia, slammed a 77-year-old man right into a pickup truck and tackled him to the ground. He died 13 days later.

The Warren County Sheriff's Workplace originally said Ralph Ennis had fallen over the trailer hitch of his truck and hit his head in the course of the arrest on April 2 outside a 7-Eleven close to Entrance Royal. Deputies had pulled him over for driving erratically and rushing, authorities stated.

Medics took Ennis to a hospital. Ennis’ wife Linda Ennis said doctors advised her he had a brain bleed. He died on April 15.

She said the body camera video showed a different scenario than what the sheriff's workplace had beforehand told her.

"It was very difficult to watch. I wish that I hadn't watched it now," she stated.

Linda Ennis said her late husband had not too long ago begun fighting dementia and was the topic of a Silver Alert in mid-March.

Warren County Sheriff Mark Butler instructed News4 he stands by the preliminary assertion his office released.

The Front Royal officer's report mentioned, however, the deputy "jerked the male round" and "slammed the male into the camper high face first."

"It was method overkill. Just - none of that was essential," Linda Ennis said.

The health worker has not launched Ennis' reason for death.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office mentioned deputies began following Ralph Ennis that morning as a result of he was going 63 in a 55 and driving erratically. The sheriff's workplace stated he didn’t come to cease until about 4 miles.

Ennis followed instructions to get out of the truck, however then refused orders to drop his keys and put his palms behind his again, the sheriff's workplace mentioned.
