Bison gores Yellowstone customer, tosses her 10 toes, park officials say

A woman visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials said Tuesday.

The 25-year-old girl, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a information launch from the park.

The woman approached the female bison Monday morning after it came near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, close to Old Devoted geyser, the park mentioned.

Park guidelines require visitors to stay greater than 25 yards from the animals, the most important mammals in North America, which are unpredictable, can high speeds of 35 mph and might soar several toes.

An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison reside at the park, and so they have injured extra people than any other animal, the park said.

When the visitor got here inside 10 feet of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 ft in the air, the park said.

The woman had puncture wounds and other injuries and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service mentioned. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
