Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech large stated its iconic music participant has been changed by other units, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide advertising and marketing, said: "At the moment, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have built-in an unimaginable music expertise throughout all of our merchandise, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound high quality with help for spatial audio - there isn't any higher method to take pleasure in, discover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the original iPod and it was the primary MP3 participant that could hold 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new category of digital music player that allows you to put your complete music collection in your pocket and take heed to it wherever you go," he stated at the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the identical once more."
Similar MP3 gamers launched by Microsoft and Sony did not have the same success as the iPod.
Apple has released 5 variations of its music player - the Basic, Contact, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The corporate has been slowly killing its iPod range lately, with mobile phone know-how enabling customers to listen to music companies on their phones.
In 2014, the basic click on wheel model was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano have been killed off three years later.
