Apple has discontinued the iPod, 20 years after it was launched.
The US tech big mentioned its iconic music participant has been changed by other gadgets, making the iPod redundant.
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide marketing, mentioned: "Right now, the spirit of iPod lives on.
"We have integrated an unbelievable music experience across all of our merchandise, from the iPhone to the Apple Watch to HomePod mini, and across Mac, iPad, and Apple TV.
"And Apple Music delivers industry-leading sound quality with support for spatial audio - there is no higher option to take pleasure in, discover, and expertise music."
In October 2001, Steve Jobs debuted the unique iPod and it was the first MP3 participant that would maintain 1,000 songs and had a 10-hour battery life.
"With iPod, Apple has invented a whole new class of digital music player that lets you put your complete music assortment in your pocket and take heed to it wherever you go," he mentioned on the time.
"With iPod, listening to music won't ever be the same once more."
Similar MP3 gamers launched by Microsoft and Sony did not have the same success as the iPod.
Apple has launched five variations of its music participant - the Traditional, Contact, Shuffle, Mini and Nano.
The corporate has been slowly killing its iPod range lately, with mobile phone know-how enabling prospects to take heed to music companies on their telephones.
In 2014, the basic click on wheel mannequin was discontinued, and the Shuffle and Nano had been killed off three years later.
The seventh-generation iPod contact was the one model still on sale right this moment.
