Over 800 WhiteHat Jr workers have resigned from the kids on-line coding studying edtech start-up within the last two months after being requested to work from workplace.
This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, requested its staff to return to office inside a month’s time, in accordance with an Inc42 report.
On March 18, the company introduced the coverage to end work from home and asked remote staff to return to workplace by April 18.
The resignations came from full-time employees of the gross sales, coding, and math teams. Extra workers are expected to put down their papers within the coming months.
One of the workers who resigned advised the website that a month’s time was not sufficient for relocation. “Some have youngsters, some have aged and sick dad and mom, whereas others have other obligations. It's not right to name back employees in such a short time period,” the previous WhiteHat Jr worker stated.
Another employee said salaries additionally factored in the choice to not return to the workplace. At the time of hiring, workers were instructed about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has offices in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from house for two years, employees believed that their salaries should be revised to mirror the cost of living in costly cities.
“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
